Lucy hit the three month mark this week. So, in honor of my now vast parenting experience, I thought it time for another "lessons learned" post.
- Spit up is a little difficult to remove from eyelashes, but it doesn't really seem to bother the baby, so you can just leave it. ;)
- When baby has not had a dirty diaper for 2 and a half days, have the washer at stand-by, and the Spray and Wash bottle at the ready
- Post-pregnancy weight-loss will soon come to a grinding halt, despite nursing, if one cooks with enough butter
- An infant produces more laundry than both of her parents combined
- 32 burp cloths are not too many, and can be used up in two days with a particularly determined child
- Even if baby sleeps all night, this does necessarily mean that mom and dad will do the same
- It is surprisingly tempting to want to share your own food (like ice cream) with your baby, despite the doctor's warnings against (no, I haven't actually done it!)
- The TV is mesmerizing even at one month old
- Baby fingernails grow at an alarming rate, and only get harder to trim as the baby gets stronger
- The car seat will inevitable cause your child to spit up as soon as you put her in it
- Babies are instant conversation starters with strangers, whether you're at Disneyland or the grocery store
- Having a camcorder in the house is a recipe for lots of new-parent, boring video of baby just sitting there.
- Diapering a baby is sometimes like saddling a horse... you have to wait for them to exhale before you can get cinch them up. :)
- A multitude of bibs saves mom a multitude of outfit changes for baby
- "Baby's first Christmas" may not be quite as fun and idyllic as future Christmases, especially if baby is only 2 months old
ah! tooo cute. toooo cute!!!!!! if she was a korean baby, i'd threaten to bite her. wait.. does that happen in your world too?
