If You Give a Mouse a Cookie

If you give the stomach flu to a woman who is 8 months pregnant...

She will call her doctor's office, just to find out what warning signs to look for, and when it might be a good idea to come in to the office instead of just waiting it out.

While the nurse is busy giving the pregnant woman her answer, the nurse will remember that she needs to clarify some of the advice she's giving with the doctor.

The doctor will decide it's best for said pregnant woman to come in, just in case.

Once at the hospital, there will be much waiting and laying on uncomfortable gurneys and wearing bothersome monitoring belts.

The doctors and nurses will discover that everything is fine (as the pregnant woman suspected), but will want to give IV fluids to help with dehydration.

The pregnant woman (who despises needles) will then spend another hour continuing to lay in the uncomfortable gurney with an extremely sharp object stuck in her hand.

After many hours, the pregnant woman will finally be allowed to go home, feeling better, but awfully tired after the long day.

Said pregnant woman will also be highly motivated to finish off preparations for baby after visiting the hospital makes things seem so much more imminent...

...but maybe after a little rest.
